Daughters of the Most Humble Mother,
servants of Redemption
Who we are
We are a community of consecrated women who wish to be a humble presence of prayer and service in the Church. Our Community’s name is “Daughters of the Most Humble Mother, Servants of Redemption”. Our community life started in 2002 in the church of St. Charles in Vigevano, thanks to the welcoming of the bishop, Mons. Claudio Baggini, who approved our Statute of life in 2003.
Our life is inspired by the spirituality of Sister Maria Veronica Algranati, whom we call “Nonna (grandma) Susanna”.
As Nonna Susanna wrote, we would like to be like little “Veronicas” in the Church...
«Tradition tells that a peasant woman, the one who the faithful call Veronica, seeing Our Lord wal-king up to the Calvary, with an impetus of love, wanted to wipe His Most Holy Face with a cloth, offe-ring Him a tribute of gratitude that maybe was the humble fruit of her own handwork. The small group of souls to whom Our Lord has inspired the “Society of gratitude” intends to renew this impe-tus of love and compassion of the people towards Jesus, Who is present in the priest, supporting the priests in every possible way». (Nonna Susanna)
We offer up our life and our prayers to support the ministry of the priests, firmly believing that, by virtue of the Sacrament of Holy Orders, they are “Alter Christus” (Other Christs). They bear in them-selves the mystery of Christ.
We live in parishes and we put our work and prayers at the service of priests: we teach catechism and religion, we take care of the church and animate the parish, do house work and cook.
Our Community consists of 11 sisters and 2 young women who are walking the path to get in our Community. We are presently in three different homes: Vigevano, Bologna and in České Budějovice.
We put our prayers and existence under the mantle of Mary, whom Nonna Susanna has taught us to call «Most Humble Mother»… our Mom, our Teacher, our role Model, our Guide to Jesus…
Nonna Susanna teaches us how to live out gratitude: on the 17th of every month a Holy Mass is cele-brated for all our benefactors.
We entrusted our Family to St. Joseph. As the father of the Holy Family he provided it with all it needed, and he protects this small community too.
We provide for ourselves with our work partly, and we also give thanks to Providence, that is offers of benefactors who support us and make the life of our community possible.
